About Us

The Friends of Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge supports the refuge in its mission to conserve and protect wild islands to provide important habitats for an array of wildlife species throughout the Gulf of Maine. We do this by raising funds to supplement the refuge budget, developing and staffing the Rockland visitor center and educational programs, and volunteering for special projects. Come learn about this wildlife refuge at our visitor center, 9 Water Street in Rockland. Video, wall map of the coastline, replica seabird island, exhibits and a beautiful nature Art Gallery.
